Air Quality Monitoring laboratory is well established at NCSCM with all basic analyzers for Air Quality monitoring and Atmospheric Transport modeling. This laboratory setup is equipped with data acquisition hardware and essential software to display data and to manage the complete back up retention. The Air Quality Monitoring provides Ambient Air Quality Monitoring System (AAQMS) for the measurement of SO2, NOX, CO, CO2, O3, PM10, PM2.5 in the atmospheric environment in the real-time mode. Similarly, the laboratory has Automatic Weather Station (AWS), which measures meteorological parameters such as wind speed & direction, rainfall, UV-radiation, temperature, humidity, etc. The main objective of Ambient Air Quality Monitoring is to generate background air quality data thereby assessing the existing level of contamination and also the possible effects of atmospheric pollution in the future. The laboratory has determined the qualitative evaluation of atmospheric pollutants, based on CPCB / USEPA approved methods, and meets the latest specifications of National Ambient Air Quality Standards.
