Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Program- Training Programme
The National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), in collaboration with the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA), successfully conducted a One-Day Training Programme on “Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Program” for employees of both organisations. The training was organised in two phases on 26th August 2025 at the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA), Chennai, and on 29th August 2025 at NCSCM, Chennai as part of the nationwide behavioural transformation initiative led by the Capacity Building Commission (CBC) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC).
The primary objective of this programme was to foster Seva Bhaav (spirit of public service), anchored in empathy, integrity, and responsibility, among NCSCM employees. The training aimed to strengthen key behavioural competencies essential for:
- Delivering citizen-centric services
- Enhancing responsiveness, coordination, and collaboration across government systems
- Improving job satisfaction and fostering a deeper sense of fulfilment (swadharma)
The training was delivered through the Pedgog online platform, enabling interactive learning modules and assessments. All participants joined using mobile devices with active internet connectivity and valid email credentials. The programme was facilitated and coordinated by Dr. J. Selvin Pitchaikani, KGP Division, and Mr. S. Sathish Kumar, Capacity Building Unit (CBU), NCSCM, who served as the Master Trainers.
The training achieved the following key outcomes:
- Greater awareness and internalisation of Seva Bhaav in day-to-day responsibilities
- Improved capability to deliver citizen-focused, responsive, and solution-oriented services
- Strengthened inter-divisional collaboration and more effective team communication
- Positive feedback from participants regarding the programme’s relevance, usefulness, and impact
Overall, the sessions were well received and contributed significantly to enhancing behavioural competencies aligned with national capacity-building goals.
